some jobs in administration first? Why start where it
will effect the kids the most?
Administrators need to remember why they get tax
dollars, not to pad their wallets while denying kids
a good education.
However that being said, I do think if they are going
to cut teaching positions , with the exception of
the special education teacher. Gym , Art, and Music
are the classes that have to go.
Especially at the level they are talking about, junior high
and high school. By the time kids are this age they
know if they want to continue on with Art or Music
and they are not college required courses. Those
classes should be forced on no one.

Court is going to be decided this year by the Junior
Class. It's really to bad that it had to be taken as
far as it did. That a compromise could not have
been reached before it went to the school board.
I think the school board took the right approach.
Not voting to over rule Jamie Gillespie, but
strongly suggesting a compromise be made.
In the end.. kind of the same thing.
Congrats to these kids for fighting to change
a policy that did not work. For taking the
initiative to bring change.

and violent crimes it makes you wonder how
long it will take Craig's list to get it. To not
allow possible sexual posts. Like
for massage services, dating services etc...
Does anyone remember postaroo?? They
pretty much allowed ads for prostitution
before they shut down.
But regardless people need to be careful when
meeting someone you don't know.
We have bought stuff off of craigs list,

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
We Miss You....

On Thursday, President Obama released memos that describe, in horrific detail, the torture techniques authorized by the . The memos make clear that top Bush officials didn't just condone torture—they encouraged it.
So far there's been no accountability for the architects of Bush's torture program—the top officials who justified keeping detainees awake for 11 days straight, them repeatedly, and forcing prisoners into coffin-like boxes with insects.1
We need real consequences for those responsible—it's the only way to keep this from happening again. can open an investigation into the torture program—but he most likely won't unless people everywhere speak up and demand it.
Can you sign our petition to Attorney General Eric Holder asking him to appoint a to investigate the torture program? If we can reach 200,000 signatures, we'll deliver the petition to Holder by the end of the week.
The petition says: "No one is above the law. It's time to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate and prosecute the architects of the Bush-era torture program."
Calls for action, from the United Nations, the ACLU, Amnesty International,2 Senators Leahy and Feingold, and others, are gathering steam. made the case for accountability in an editorial:3
This isn't about retribution or politics. It's about accountability. If hundreds of thousands of us speak up, we can make sure Holder hears this loud and clear.
Thanks for all you do.

and giving these kids a day off. It makes me think about
Evansville High School..The use out of school suspensions
as well . But its because the administrators are lazy.
They would rather get the kids out of their hair for a
few days. But all it does it gives the kid a nice vacation.
Most parents work so they are not home to
see what there kids do or don't do with their
Most parents can't stay at home to be the
slave driver to make sure their kids don't
enjoy their vacation. So it just becomes
vacation time granted by the school. Some
kids intentionally get suspended to get 'free'
days off. As it does not count against their
The high school administrators need to stop
being so lazy and keep these kids in school.
Let them help the janitors for a day or two.
Better yet let them have in school suspension
where all they do is sit in a room by them
However if they do that , which they do
from time to time ,, HEADS up you need
to keep a eye on them so they don't
sleep the day away!!!!!
It was a beautiful day. Make these kids come
to school and clean up the mess. Hand them a
broom. They are not babies , they can dodge
glass bits and help clean up the mess. Who ever
did this is getting what they want,,, a day off from
school. It was beautiful out so it would not have
been cold inside the school. What the heck.

dogs from a puppy mill, she ran a very clean operation
but a puppy mill just the same. I have since read numerous
reports on line about her, selling sick dog, after sick dog.
We were lucky.
We got another one of our dogs from a puppy
mill , but we did not know it was a puppy mill
until we got there and saw the conditions. There
was no way we were going to leave him there
in that mess.
We called the Lafayette Sheriff's dept after we
got home, and all they could do was tell her she
two weeks to get all her dogs up to date on shots.
As there was no ordinance against what she was doing.
The dog we got from there is slightly bipolar, and we
often wonder if that is not part of his problem.
Then we have people who used to breed big dogs
them selves, and now point their finger at others
who do. It's funny when a breeder finds conscious
and becomes holier than thou. What a joke they
There are so many dogs and cats in shelters
I strongly encourage people to adopt from a
reputable shelter.. Try adopting a older dog or
cat they have a lot of love to give.
We are currently fostering a older cat,, he
may be old (10) but he has a lot of spunk.
He sleeps right on one of the pillows at night
like he thinks he is king.
We chose fostering to give a animal a home
instead of a cold cage at some rescue.
So if you enjoy animals, but don't want a long
term commitment consider fostering.

with us the scary fact that heroin is becoming a serious issue
in Rock County... I am for one am glad Mary asked for him
to come and talk.
It's one of those things you would like to think would
not effect our community, but it does.
I always thought that something so deadly, would be
expensive,, but have since learned it is cheap,, very cheap.
Which makes it all of a more of a threat.
When I had to go to court with my delinquent, there were
some girls there that were in Junior High who had been
caught bringing MoM&PoPS prescription drugs to school
and handing them out... Actually I don't know if they were
just handing them out, or if they were actually selling them.
But scary stuff..
My husband &I don't even share prescription drugs,
like when I had strep, and he thought he was getting it
He went and got his own. Because different drugs effect
people differently.. It's not a one size fits all.
I think its very scary what some of the kids, and adults
will do to them selves.
To think I had a wine cooler this weekend and thought
after words thought I really did not need that.
Pretty tame compared to some.
Click on post to listen to audio.
For my info: I have been told we do have a very good city planner from
a very reliable source... It makes you wonder if this city planner has been
run over by those who want, what they want.
CORRECTION: The woman you hear speak on the audio about the budget, is not
Sandy Decker but Barb Jacobson. I should have known as Barb has always been
very thoughtful when dealing with tax payer money.. thank you Barb.
Oh my gosh!!!!!!!! Does this city have a city planner?
What a freakin mess..
How much money???? Why????
How long will this house them comfortably. I heard
someone say in one meeting , in 10 years it won't
be good enough.
I am curious when there was first talk of a fire house
WHY NOT... HAVE BUILT A FIRE HOUSE, EMS HOUSING
AND POLICE DEPT... all in one....
Yes it would have cost.. but it could have been build to
last 40 years... they all, EMS,, Fire Dept, and Police could
have all been in one location.
This is just crazy..
I don't fault them for wanting or feeling the need to
move.. but do it right.
I have also heard this will be smaller than where they
are now... Then why move?
I am assuming who we hear is Sandy Decker and good for
her actually questioning how much and when it should be
The current police station is appraised at 175,000???
ONLY if it sells as commercial?
Who else would want it with the way it is set up now?
TAKE FROM THE E.M.S.???? Is that not like stealing
from SANTA CLAUS........ Shame on this guy for that
What happens when the E.M.S. FINALLY gets its
decontamination unit??? OR anything else they
DO THIS RIGHT..... I think its foolish to spend this much
More thought should have been put into this from the
beginning talk of the fire house..
They should have done it right to begin with. I just don't
think anyone gave it much thought.
It could have been such a pretty building that housed all three.
For years, and years, and years.

you will get me to say they made the right call.
Once again the Evansville School District is having
a day of silence on April 17th.
Some people will say this is about promoting a alternative
It is not.. It is about tolerance.
No where in life do you get to harass or make comments
about some one's choices with out their being consequences
of some kind.
If you make comments about some one's sexual preference
at work, you can get fired.
You do this out in public, you can get a ticket
or punched in the nose.
It's really sad there are so many homophobic s out
there and they make a very poor attempt to stand
behind the Bible with their beliefs.
What a bunch of Crap..
The Bible says many things .. its funny how these
people who discriminate against those with a
alternate life style pick and choose what they want
to believe in the Bible. They choose what
suits their beliefs and ignore the rest.
They may have some explaining to God to do
when their day comes.
administration in the Janesville school district
they are going to have to make some
pretty hefty cuts .
HOW stupid was that they added 4k kindergarten
when its clear they could not afford to.
Just think of the jobs and services that could
be spared the ax,, if they did not have to pay
for 4k that was not needed, and not wanted by
Its funny how that administrator is no
longer employed by that district.. that's
right make a mess and leave.

How very sad..
We have a very cute raccoon that lives in the tree
next to our house, who comes and helps him self
to our garbage from time to time.
Sits out their eating his/her finds. He/she is
a fat thing, but very cute.
All the kids , including neighborhood kids have
been told we don't pet the cute raccoon.

it will mean or do for them but o.k... I think any time you
hold your officer's /employee's to higher standards that's
a great thing. I think its to bad it costs money to do this
but nothing is free anymore is it.. The cost it self is really
not that bad.
Good for them!!!
as Ma'am, Sir, Mr. Mrs... etc....
I have been thinking about it for a while. More so because
my kids call their teachers Mr. or Mrs...
But quite often when I talk with them I address them by
their first name, as they do me.
My son has a teacher this year who is new.. He is Mr.Wopat.
I am sooooooo tempted to ask him if he is related to
Tom Wopat,... YOU know Dukes of Hazzards fame.. but
I could already see the eye roll.....
He is young as well... its possible he has never heard
of the Dukes of Hazzards...
When I talk with my kids I always speak of their teachers
as Mr. or Mrs... so their if no confusion as to how I expect
them to address them..
But in our daily lives how often do we really address someone like
I address my neighbor as Mr... and his wife as Mrs...
Because for some reason I always have... since we moved here.
I have been asked by several why do I do that?
Why don't I call them by their first names..
My other neighbors I do.
I have addressed them by their first names before.
and after so long of saying Mr.& Mrs... it just does
not feel right.
So Mr. & Mrs it is.
After my post yesterday to MS... Gillespie,
I realized that I don't know that she is married.
So I will play it safe from now on and refer to her
as Ms. or by her first name.. Jamie...

I am writing concerning your views about how many
couples should be on Prom Court. Seriously pick your battles.
Stop being such a control freak. This is not your prom. This is
the class of 2010's prom not yours. The decision of what should
happen with their prom should be solely theirs not yours... With
of course the exception should alcohol be served or not. We will
let you make that call.
I would think you have many other battles you need to be dealing
with during your day and you need to pick them wisely. Like
cell phones in school, kids torturing teachers, harassment of
students by other students, teasing , bullying, drug use , and
writing on the bathroom walls. But how many couples can
be on Prom Court? Come on.. That is NOT your decision.
That needs to be left up to each individual class... It's their

or bears peaking in their windows or digging through
What did you think was going to happen when you
invaded their 'home'.. When you built your house
where they LIVE.....
In Madison especially with the way it has grown
they have taken over farm land that used to be
country.. where wild life lives...
Where would you like them to go??
To kill them is sick... knock them out maybe
and rehome them some where else...
But you have no business killing them..
It is sad that one of your cute fluffy dogs was
killed by one. It is sad I feel for them on
Take a look at the map of the area it is right
next to Owen Conservation Park. Where
animals are suppose to be..
You moved next to them, they did not
So I agree something should be done.
But not killing them.
Don't let your animals out side alone.
Keep your garbage inside the garage.
Don't feed the birds.
There are some very selfish people
in this world.
Most of the time we would normally cheer

last night. Wow that is the first movie in a long time
that made me cry...
But I think anyone with animals could cry at this one.
Because we all will face the day when we have to say
good bye to our beloved pets.
But Marley... this is so our hound dog..
even considered renaming the hound to
Marley,, but was out voted by the family.
But our hound, and I say that with love has
and does every last thing that Marley did in
We are now on our third coach..
since the hound came to live with us.
and no we
don't buy new.. who would with a hound that
eats the furniture.
But so far so good .. with the set we just got.
But she is getting older and out growing some
But when we use knives they have to go in
the dishwasher immediately, if left on the
counter, she gets them and chews on them.
YES she is a intelligent hound...
We could have re homed her months ago.
We probably should have.
But she is learning, and she loves us..
She did not ask to come and live with us.
For that matter my husband and I did not ask her
My oldest son did... this is his hound.. but
you would never know it..
She was suppose to move out with him.. the
problem being he has not moved out yet.
and he is still talking service..
Which means when he goes , she would not.
She is a good girl.. She has never hurt anyone
intentionally.. She is better behaved than she
But watching that movie last night ,, it was good
to know there are other dogs like ours..
My mom used to say 'don't get anything to nice
until your kids are older.' Now she says don't
get anything nice until ' you get rid of that dog.'
Sorry mom I think she is here to stay.

and they already have a lawyer. I would like to think NO
one ignored this woman for four+ hours... Because if they did
it would make them monsters.. I just don't see how anyone
could have ignored her for that long.

That no one gives a flip what he has to say.. much less some
budget he thinks he has put together.
I was listening to talk radio yesterday , and there is a
lot of talk of all the fighting going on in the republican
party.. that they have truly fallen apart.
That many are fighting with john mccain over his so
called budget,, people in his own party calling him out
There is a reason he was not elected and that is
because he is incompetent to say the least.
I am just amazed by her.. her grace.. her humility, her
intelligence.. This is one first lady we can all be proud of.
Hillary is a very intelligent woman.
But there just is something about Michelle Obama.
This country is very fortunate to have President Obama
and his family in the White House.
There was a lady? on there the other day, who was upset with
Obama and was trying to make a case that he is to much of a
socialist.. She was not getting any support with that thought.
She was upset about and felt that President Obama has stuck
himself to far into this Auto Mess.... how dare he try to tell
them how to fix things......
I once again will state he is cleaning up after bushie... someone
else said and Reagan. But if G.M. and Chrysler are going to
come knocking on the governments door , asking for billions
in tax payer money.... the government has every right to
insert them selves into the situation and make sure we are
not going to make a bigger mess than there already is..
When someone borrows any amount of money, the loaner
has the right to put conditions on that money..
If you don't like it, don't ask for it...

‘Simplifying Insurance’ by Jocelyn Wiebe
I just ran a quote for my family of four, and found that a plan costing $604/mo had a $7,500 deductible for Primary Care & Specialists, a $500 deductible for prescriptions, a $35 co-pay for office visits, and only allowed two office visits per year. What a rip off!
This is just one crazy example of why there are 48 million Americans who are uninsured today. Insurance plans are just plain complicated, too expensive, and many people simply don’t know what questions to ask when looking for a quote. Too many people are flushing their hard-earned money down the toilet. There is a better way, than pay big bucks in premiums every month.
The cost of health coverage seems to be increasing every day, so what is a person to do? If you can’t afford full-blown health insurance, or have a high deductible plan and find yourself paying for everything out of pocket, there IS an alternative…check out Discount Medical Plans. These plans are fee-for-service, meaning you go to a participating provider, receive your discount, and pay the balance. You can even pair your Discount Plan with a high deductible insurance plan so if something catastrophic happens, you will have help after meeting your deductible. There is no limit to the number of visits as these plans are NOT insurance. There are NO deductibles, NO co-pays, NO waiting periods, and NO pre-existing condition clauses…Just a straight discount at participating providers.
Never heard of Discount Plans? Here are the top 10 reasons to do some research based on facts I know about one specific company:
1. Consumer driven - YOU CHOOSE your own doctor from the provider network, no insurance company tells you which provider you can visit. (Make sure you check to see if there are providers in your area before enrolling in a plan!)
2. No pre-existing condition clause - Everyone is eligible because it is a straight fee-for-service/discount plan. You present your card at participating providers, receive your discount, and pay the balance. Very simple.
3. Discount program for diabetics - Provides help with the cost of diabetic supplies.
4. Prescription Advocacy Program - Pay a flat fee for all your prescriptions each month. You must qualify by income for this program, so be sure to check the guidelines.
5. Hospital Advocacy Program - If you have no medical coverage and are admitted into the hospital, you could be paying those bills for a very long time. With the Hospital Advocacy Program, once your bill hits $2,500 (which happens by just using a few squares of that hospital toilet paper, it seems!), a professional advocate works with the hospital on your behalf to reduce your financial liability.
6. A 24-hour Nurseline. Don’t know if you need to see a doctor? Call the Nurseline and speak with a Registered Nurse first.
7. A Dental Plan – Also includes vision, prescription and chiropractic discounts.
8. Month-to-month subscription - You can cancel at any time.
9. Savings of 20-80% - Off all your healthcare needs.
10. Low cost – Plans are available ranging from $14.95 to $59.95 per month.
With 48 million Americans completely uninsured, another 100 million+ underinsured, and 7 out of 10 people without a dental plan, there is a real need for this alternative. Do yourself and favor and learn about insurance once a for all. It could save your business and your life!
