about getting supplies for the school year.
It is so hard to believe they go back in just a little
over a month.
When you are out buying all the supplies please remember
the Aware agency as they donate supplies to the schools and
students who would other wise not have the supplies they need.
Back Packs, Pencils, Pens, Colors, Markers, glue. Any or All
Just please keep them in mind as you begin to shop. There will
be more information about drop locations coming in the next
couple of weeks, you could also give the Aware agency a call
and see about dropping them at the Aware office.

ones we are sure to hit.
I noticed several garage sales that are for a cause.
I like that. Like I said before this is a excellent
opportunity for a FUND RAISER.
There is one for Special Olympics. Another for the
American Cancer Society. The Junior Class is selling
Krispy Creme doughnuts, Yum..
We are definitely going to make sure we hit the fund

Unfit to serve as Commander-In-Chief
The spoiled son of military privilege got a free ride throughout his military career despite repeated instances of sex scandals and screw-ups

John Sidney McCain III entered the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland in 1954. Young McCain wanted to become an admiral. He planned to be the "first son and grandson of four star admirals" to achieve such a distinction. But that was not to be. McCain III possessed none of the innate character and discipline traits that helped mold his father and grandfather into great military leaders.
His father, John S. "Junior" McCain, and grandfather, John S. McCain, Sr., were famous four-star Admirals in the U.S. Navy. His father commanded U.S. forces in Europe before becoming commander of American forces fighting in Vietnam. His grandfather commanded naval aviation at the Battle of Okinawa in 1945. Both men became highly influential in U.S. Navy operations.
At the Academy, aside being known as a "rowdy, raunchy, underachiever" who resented authority, Midshipman McCain became infamous as a leader among his fellow midshipmen for organizing "off-Yard activities" and hard drinking parties. Robert Timberg wrote in his book, The Nightingale's Song, that "being on liberty with John McCain was like being in a train wreck."
McCain's grades were "marginal." He drew so many demerits for breaking curfew and other discipline issues that he graduated fifth from the bottom of the class of 1958. Despite his low "class standing," and no doubt because of the influence of his family of famous Admirals, McCain was leap-frogged ahead of more qualified applicants and granted a coveted slot to be trained as a navy pilot.
Good Party Animal - Bad Pilot:
He spent the next two and a half years as a "naval aviator in training" at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida and Naval Air Station Corpus Christi in Texas, flying A-1 Skyraiders.
While a pilot trainee, McCain continued to party hard. He drove a Corvette and dated an exotic dancer named "Marie the Flame of Florida." Timberg wrote that McCain "learned to fly at Pensacola, though his performance was below par, at best good enough to get by. He liked flying, but didn't love it."
McCain Lost Five Military Aircraft
McCain, the "below par" pilot, eventually lost 5 military aircraft, the first during a training flight in 1958 when he plunged into Corpus Christi Bay while trying to land. The Navy ignored the crash and graduated McCain in 1960.
While deployed in the Mediterranean, the hard partying McCain lost a second aircraft. Timberg described the crash: "Flying too low over the Iberian Peninsula, he took out some power lines which led to a spate of newspaper stories in which he was predictably identified as the son of an admiral."
Unscathed, McCain returned to Pensacola Station where he was promoted to flight instructor for Naval Air Station Meridian in Mississippi. The airfield at Meridian, McCain Field, was named in honor of McCain's grandfather.
In 1964 McCain became involved with Carol Shepp, a model from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he had met at Annapolis. They were married in Philadelphia on July 3, 1965.
Flight instructor McCain lost a third aircraft while flying a Navy trainer solo to Philadelphia for an Army-Navy football game. Timberg wrote that McCain radioed, "I've got a flameout" before ejecting at one thousand feet. McCain parachuted onto a beach moments before his plane slammed into a clump of trees.
The Navy dismissed the crash as "unavoidable" and assigned McCain to the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal in December 1966, which was patrolling the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. In Spring 1967, the Forrestal was assigned to join the Operation Rolling Thunder bombing campaign against North Vietnam.
McCain lost his fourth plane on board the Forrestal on July 29, 1967 when a rocket inadvertently slammed into his bomb laden jet. McCain escaped, but the explosions that followed killed 134 sailors. McCain was transferred from the badly damaged Forrestal to the USS Oriskany. Shortly afterwards, on Oct. 26, 1967, he was shot down and captured by the Vietnamese.
Post-POW Years: Political Ambition and a New, Young, Rich Wife
Upon his release from North Vietnam and return to the United States in 1973, McCain reunited with his wife, Carol, who had been permanently crippled in a car accident while he was a POW.
Still yearning to become an admiral, McCain enrolled in the National War College at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C. and underwent physical therapy in order to fly again. The Navy excused his permanent disabilities and reinstated him to flight status, effectively positioning him for promotion.
Timberg described McCain's advancement: "in the fall of 1974, McCain was transferred to Jacksonville as the executive officer of Replacement Air Group 174, the long-sought flying billet at last a reality. A few months later, he assumed command of the RAG, which trained pilots and crews for carrier deployments. The assignment was controversial, some calling it favoritism, a sop to the famous son of a famous father and grandfather, since he had not first commanded a squadron, the usual career path."
While Executive Officer and later as Squadron Commander McCain used his authority to arrange frequent flights that allowed him to carouse with subordinates and "engage in extra-marital affairs."
This was a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice rules against adultery and fraternization with subordinates. But, as with all his other past behaviors, McCain was never penalized; instead he always got away with his transgressions.
Timberg wrote, "Off duty, usually on routine cross-country flights to Yuma and El Centro, John started carousing and running around with women. To make matters worse, some of the women with whom he was linked by rumor were subordinates . . . At the time the rumors were so widespread that, true or not, they became part of McCain's persona, impossible not to take note of."
In early 1977, Admiral Jim Holloway, Chief of Naval Operations promoted McCain to captain and transferred him from his command position "to Washington as the number-two man in the Navy's Senate liaison office. McCain was promptly given total control of the office. It wasn't long before the "fun loving and irreverent" McCain had turned the liaison office into a "late-afternoon gathering spot where senators and staffers, usually from the Armed Services and Foreign Relations committees, would drop in for a drink and the chance to unwind."
In 1979, while attending a military reception in Hawaii, McCain met and fell in love with Cindy Lou Hensley, 17 years his junior, who was the daughter of James W. Hensley, a wealthy Anheuser-Busch distributor from Phoenix, Arizona. McCain filed for and obtained an uncontested divorce from his wife in Florida on April 2, 1980 and promptly married Cindy on May 17, 1980.
He resigned from the Navy in 1981 and went to work for his father-in-law in Phoenix; where he used the opportunity to make powerful and wealthy friends in Arizona including banker Charles Keating and Duke Tully, the editor-in-chief of the Arizona Republic. Keating was later convicted of fraud, racketeering, and conspiracy and Tully was disgraced for concocting a phony military record of combat in Korea and Vietnam including medals for heroism.
McCain ran for Arizona's First Congressional District in 1982. McCain won the congressional seat. In 1987 McCain was elected to the Senate.
Yesterday, MoveOn members jumped into action in response to the Post story, placing "For Sale" signs on McCain headquarters in 10 battleground states to call public attention to it.2 At the same time, McCain made our point for us, holding a photo-op yesterday in front of a California oil well and renewing his push for offshore drilling.3
McCain's hoping to use gas prices as a wedge issue to win the election. That's why it's so critical that we keep spreading the message that McCain's been heavily influenced by the oil companies—and so we can't count on him to solve the energy crisis. When people think of Bush, they think "oil," but that's not true of McCain yet—even though his energy policy is almost identical to Bush's and his campaign is literally run by oil lobbyists!4

up they were not happy with the people's comments on the Gazette's
blog part. That it was misinformation. NO it was not . It was opinion
and that is what they can not stand. Because not one person was in favor
of re-doing the lake. The information in the article Gina Duwe wrote
came from the mayor- so where was the misinformation??
The only real comments were from people who said 2.6 was to much.
That they never should have started this project.
The one person wanted to sue who ever started this mess.
Some people complained about the bricks and not the lake.
Some complained about both
Several made the comment about taxes being to high
There were not comments that had mis information , it was all opinion.
I think the 'writing on the wall' is becoming more and more
clear the closer this lake comes to needing resolution.
People do not want to spend millions on this lake.
The economy won't allow it, taxes are high already in Evansville.
Go a head and listen to the audio from this meeting on the Observer's
This S.O.L.E. committee is nervous.
They need to show some good faith and have a fund raiser NOW.
IF the lake were not to pass the money can go back to the city
to help replace ALL the money they have already spent on
estimates, opinions, reports and what ever else they spent
the thousands on.
Click on the post to see the gazette article in question. NO
mis-information. Just facts by gina duwe and opinions by tax
payers who do not want to foot the bill.
The information for the article came from the mayor so there could
not be mis-information. Right.
People do not want this lake with a 2.6 million price tag.
Get up early.

few weeks about Brett Favre coming back or not.
A argument that some people will try to make is he
retired, he should never again be allowed to play or
come back he retired damn, he should go lay down in a
corner and be good. Bull shit.
There are plenty of company's in the United States
that take back former employees. Either after they
have retired or if they quit and then want to come back.
IF YOU LEAVE ON GOOD TERMS AND HAD ACCEPTABLE PERFORMANCE
WHEN YOU WERE EMPLOYED BY THEM THE FIRST TIME.
American Family, Placon, Sub Zero, Walmart, Meriter, St.Mary's
Dean, Physicians Plus, Blue Cross Blue Shield , the State of Wisconsin
this is to just name a few. My friend who has been employed by the State
for the last 20 years, and is the head of her dept said it is very common
for people to leave and come back. Some times people will RETIRE, take 6months
to a year off and then come back on part time basis , some times full time.
So this argument that he retired and should stay retired. That no one
else gets to go back after they retire is BULLSHIT.
The man is 39 years old and can still play, let him play. Even if its not
in Green Bay.
And Yes Fire Ted Thompson.

How long do you think that will last? I am not a Brewer fan.
But I don't watch any other baseball either. I go to Brewer games
we went two weeks ago with some friends. But it was for the atmosphere
not because I cared to watch the Brewers. They were decent last
year and then CHOKE... My brother in law is just a huge Cubs fan. You know
Iowa no major league baseball or football so what is he to do. So I did have
some fun teasing him about his Cubs being tied with the Brewers. Hopefully
they keep it going.
a Packer game, and the Packer's had just intercepted the
ball. I looked to see the expression of the other team's
quaterback only to realize we were playing the Nasty
Minnesota Vikings and Brett was their quarterback.
It was a true nightmare.
I have to really wonder if he will show up for training
Brett's issues are with T.T. , I know he does not care
to make his team mates feel uncomfortable. There is nothing
to gain by that.
I am sure he has also been thinking about how he would deal
with Aaron Rogers.
Aaron Rogers and Ted Thompson better start prayin a month ago
that they have a out standing season this year.
conference with Mike McCarthy yesterday. I
should have known it would just drive me nuts.
But Mike McCarthy looks like he has aged over
the last couple of weeks. He looked frazzled.
He offered 50.00 to any member of the press
that would ask a question not involving Brett.
Well until this thing is resolved, get used to it.
McCarthy says Aaron is their quarterback, but I wonder
how he really feels. He likes Brett. He is caught in
the middle. He has to play'company' ball. Do what his
boss says. Ted Thompson should be canned.

from work, based on my stats.
But this last week I had to go into the office
for a meeting. I was asked by my supervisor afterwords
to stay and help her go through some applications many
of which were sent via email.
I willing to bet at least 40% of them were
sent from a business email address.
I am sorry I would never sent my resume to a
possible future employer from a current employer's
computer system. I just would not. That is just
in bad taste.
Now my supervisor's comment was more laid back
in saying well we don't know their policy's where
they are currently working. Maybe they are allowed
to do this type of thing on their lunch, or break.
I do not care. You do not job search from your current
employers computer system, or at their place of business.
It's disrespectful. Many of the applicants whom emailed
from work did have their applications put in the look over
more closely pile.
As opposed to some that were just disregarded.
Two job openings, and over 250 applicants so far. Now
does that not say something about the economy. Pretty
the question. But he would not go to training camp
unless something was going on..I just want to know
what jersey I am going to be wearing.
last June, is 18 and employed full time. He still lives at home
at this point but has no curfew. He is 18.
Any way I got a call from him about 2:30 a.m. saying
' Mom Jimbob has been throwing up, and it looks like
a lot of blood, I think he is really sick.'
I asked him what is ' JimBob doing now?'
" But my gosh mom , its blood, I think he is really sick.'
" Can you talk to him? Will he talk to you?"
" Not really, Not Much."
Trying not to panic, and wondering if my son was just
panicking and thinking maybe it was something 'jimbob'
had eaten that made it look like blood, I went over to the
house they said they were at.
I got there and very quickly panicked and became very
angry. It definitely looked like blood, and 'jimbob' was
very out of it.
NOT ONLY THAT THEY HAD BEEN DRINKING.
I was so angry. In between giving orders to the kids
who were there to help me get 'jimbob' into the car
I was lecturing them all , focusing more on the kids
I knew , my anger and fear coming out with every word.
" How could you guys, be so selfish and stupid as
to not call for help sooner.'
" Are you guys that worried about getting a ticket for
underage drinking that you would let your friend lay here
and puke up blood and whatever else, and do nothing?"
" I asked them, what if he dies??"
" What will it take for you guys and gals to get it through
your heads? That alcohol has dangers.'
After we got ' Jimbob ' out to the car , which he did
walk part of the way with help, he did start to ask
questions, and not make any sense.
That was the point I would decide just take him to the
emergency room as opposed to calling 911, as up to
that point I had not made up my mind. I was just shocked
and angry and scared.
My son and two other ' friends' rode with to the hospital
emergency room and yes and deed he had alcohol
The blood was from throwing up so violently.
I made a call to his parents. After they got their
my son, and the other two kids we went home.
I was preaching the entire ride home , I was so
angry, but now some, what relieved.
Later that day you better believe I was on the phone
calling parents, and not giving all the details , just
simply stating .. '" Ask your daughter/son what happened
last night and what they didn’t do. "
One of my son's friends made the comment.
" I have never seen your mom so angry."
Not just angry , but scared and very disappointed
that they did nothing until my son called. Just let
this kid lay there thinking nothing of it.
This kid could have died and they just don't get it.
Yes he is . Why would the press want to cover him? He is almost
a photo copy of George Bush, I am sure the press is going 'same old thing.'
It's funny McCain criticized Obama for not going to these places, and
now that he is , he is criticizing. McCain knows he is screwed.
*** Obama's office in Janesville is opening on Tuesday.
is not real point, NOW, with only a few months left
of his reign of terror. They should have impeached
him two, three years ago. p.bush has over stepped and
re-written things to suit his agenda all through his
presidency. He is just creepy.
that. I am thinking I am going to need a Tampa Bay jersey .
I will also need to order the NFL channel through direct. I told
my husband we are going to need to order that, he did not say a
I am so sick of the entire thing. Reggie White's Widow brought up
a interesting question, when Reggie retired he got the 'itch' and
came out of retirement for 1 more year and played for Carolina.
The question would be did the Packer's turn Reggie away as well?
Do they have a general disrespect for those that have put the team
where they are today? To those who lead the team to a super bowl win?
I think the big issue is that Brett gets to play. It should be in
Greenbay, but if not the Greenbay Packers can sit at home in January
and watch Brett in the Superbowl.
Maybe Aaron Rogers could have the team over for a Super Bowl party?
Better yet maybe Ted Thompson.
The pressure is on. Now more than ever.
I will still watch the Packers, I love Donald Driver and Al Harris good
old vets who have stuck with the Packers. But it will not be the same.

talking a lot more with friends about finances and
what we do to cut back and save.
I used to know this one couple they charged everything.
Go to home depot, charge it. Get gas charge it.
Go shopping charge it.
Re-do the house finance it. Now they owe more than its worth.
That is no way to live at some
point you have to live with what you make.
How many things are that important that you have to
When we went on vacation this last fall it was all
paid for with cash. We saved.
When we did the work on the house , paid for with cash
When we go on vacation this fall, it will be paid for
with cash. We are saving it.
We were raised with the thought that if you
can't pay cash for something how badly do you
really need it. Can it not wait until you have
the cash? I have to say I am glad with things
getting tighter we do not have a stack of credit
cards to pay on, on top of gas prices.
That is another thing we never charge gas or
grocery's. I have noticed more and more
people doing that. That is bad.
That is not a good sign.
I think that is one of the reasons so many
people back Obama is he will bring change
for the better. He brings hope.
the government bail out G.M. if need be.
No - 2
Should the government have bailed out fannie-freddie?
I don't think the government should have bailed out freddie-fannie.
That is rewarding them for bad business practices and greed.
I also do not think the government should bail out G.M.
They have profited for years and years. They should have
started making changes years ago, and now they are behind
and many are suffering but its because of G.M. let them
clean up their own mess.
My mom gets my dad's pension. When I told her I was nervous
and how they were cutting health benefits to the retired
salaried employees, her comment was ' well those people should
have plenty of money.' Not only that if they are retired they
qualify for government programs.
My mom and dad were always savers. We almost always drove used
vehicles. Used but nice.
We went on vacation when there was cash in the bank.
not a credit card.
They had the house and farm paid off before I graduated
from high school, which was quite a accomplishment.
They did not have something as simple as central air installed
until after I moved out and they paid cash.
The credit card was for true emergency's not for when you went
to the mall, vacation, or what ever.
It's only been since my dad died that mom bought a new car.
Mostly out of concern of not knowing enough about used cars
to know you were getting one that was not a lemon.
We also did not want to have to worry about her and what she was
driving and if it would hold up through her next trip.
I do feel bad for these G.M. workers but they all made very nice
livings and hopefully they have saved.

We would have fund raisers and donate to causes we felt were
important. I am curious if anyone outside the S.O.L.E. committee
from town has donated to the lake fund? The pig, radio shack,
Varco pruden, Bakers? I mean come on. This is suppose to be
for the town it would be nice to have some of places make a
nice donation. Anything would help.

days we got to talking with him about some
issues going on here in town, and asked how
his department would handle these situations.
Now he is not a patrolman has not been for years.
He deals almost strictly with homicides. Which I
don't know how he does it. His department is also
quite a bit bigger. So things are done differently.
But when we were talking with him about the drinking
issues here is town, and about kids not being pursued
at these beer party's. His said well they are basically
screwed if they do, screwed if they don't. But they can
not just ignore it either. They have to attempt to get
He then told us a horrible story from two months ago that
he was involved in. A underage beer party was broken
up. KIDS ran, (how about that they run in Iowa as well.)
Some kids got into their vehicles and took off. With cops
in pursuit. This one particular car at some point
turned into a park, and drove off a cliff, all four kids
died. This is in Council Bluffs, Ia. Cliffs all over the
place, lots of bluffs. My brother-in-law and his partner
were called in to investigate and help with the mess as everyone
knew thats exactly what it was a mess and a tragedy. That there
was going to be lots of questions. That the police dept would
be under the microscope for procedures and policy.
However it can't let a car full of kids that have been
drinking roam the roads. The same thing when local p.d.
busts beer party's and the kids run. You can not just let
them run, without making a effort. What if something happens
to one or several of them. Like the kid at the graduation party
that ran into the fence and knocked him self out cold. I would
think medical assistance would be needed. There is always the
possibility of falling into ponds or retaining ponds around here
as well. Some are well over 4 feet deep, more so in the winter
what if they don't get out. Ice over the top and they can't get
There are no easy answers but until there are proper procedures
and policy's it will come back to bite them in the butt.
My brother- in- laws comment as well was he was very glad does not
work in a small town. As small town police dept. are run a lot
different than big city's.
He is a stickler on policy and procedure. But thats how he got
the rank and respect he gets. He follows procedures and policy
and has respect for all.
when we go out and karaoke. It is meant to be done
as a duet. But when they did this song again this
weekend. IT made me think of the S.O.L.E. Committee
and City Council. How nice it would have been for them
both groups to sing this at the 4th's Karaoke fun.
Below are the lyrics, instead of 1 Million, stick in
3 Million. In stead of ________ stick in dredger.
Instead of _____ stick in new walls for creek.. etc..
You see how this goes. NOW seriously if they had done
this it could have used their singing talents as a
fund raiser. This song is by Bare Naked Ladies. Have fun.
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
I'd but you a house ( I would buy you a house)
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
I'd buy you furniture for your house ( maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman)
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)
I'd but you a K-car ( a nice reliant automobile)
If I had a 1,000,000, I'd buy you love
If I had a 1,000,000
I'd build a tree fort in our yard
If I had a 1,000,000
You could help it wouldn't be that hard
If I had a 1,000,000
Maybe we could put a refrigerator in there
Wouldn't that be fabulous!
If I had a 1,000,000 (If I had a 1,000,000)

Just think they'd be happy with a million dollars and the city council
needs 3 Million.
Friday, July 18, 2008
know it will be closer to 3 MILLION if not more. Because
NO project ever goes like you think it will. There are always
issues that come up.. Looking at 3 Million ++++
Gina Duwe has a short article on the fact something
is going to have to be done with that lake one way
When I saw this article there was like 16 comments, and
I thought, oh here we go!!!
But I was pleasantly surprised to see not one person in
favor of spending 2.5 to possible 3 million on this lake.
But what I was even more surprised at was how mad people are
about that damn rubble strip a.k.a. bricks in down town area.
I thought I was one of the few who was upset the city could
waste and spend that kind of money on something so needless.
I once again ask what is that ballot going to look like
in November ? How are they going to word the referendum?
Regardless I think it does not have a snow ball's chance in
hell of passing.
They need to let the poor lake revert to a stream and leave
it be. As one poster said it's a healthier environment now
than it was with the lake there.
With the state of affairs within our city government, it makes
many wonder if they have ever budgeted for anything, and stuck
We can't blame just the current council but also past councils
For the last 10 years they have let whom ever build where ever
and how many they wanted, regardless of how it was going to
stress city utilities. They should have been up grading and
replacing all along.
IF you had 3 million how would you spend it?
NOW remember the city DOES NOT have 2.5-3 Million.

the word but not anyone else. IT IS WRONG for anyone
white, purple, green, black, to use the word. IT is a
nasty, nasty, word. It just shows such a great deal of
disrespect and hatred. It has no place in society.
We have many friends who are black and I have never
heard them use the word. It is just something you do
Sorry Jesse if you DID actually use this word.
My question would be why?

This is always fun. But this weekend could be so
much more. It would be a great time for groups to
have fun raising booths, food related.
I would think the S.O.L.E. committee would take
advantage of all those people being in town for
the day and try to make some money. I have never
noticed a booth by them that weekend. EVER..
That just seem to want money given to them without
doing anything to get it.
One booth all year is not nearly enough. (4th)
So many people come from out of town as well its just
a perfect time to raise money.
Harlan Miller. (I am assuming his name was verified)
I very much agree with Mr.Miller on several points he
Any one take a good look at your water bill lately? IT
would seem as though the city council agreed to add
4.00 to our bills to pay for the storm water mgmt, it
goes into a fund.
Now the 4.00 it self is not the issue I have. But over
time it adds up. I agree with Mr. Miller on several points.
1. Taxes are to high. I have no doubt at some point they
will try to add part of this to our taxes as well.
2. The city wants the citizens to pick up the pieces for
the mistakes THEY have made.
Why does a town the size of Blanchardville only have a water
and light bill of 175.00 every THREE months. When the citizens
of Evansville on average the bills run 180.00 or more a month
for a family of five.
Why is it that a town much smaller than Evansville can control
its costs so much better?
Several years ago it was brought up that maybe Evansville should have
a larger utility run its water and light , to save money.
IF the city can not do any better than what they are now
this needs to be looked at again.
Evansville's problem is this city has been so poorly run
for so long, and now its catching up to them. The storm/sewer
issues are something that should have been dealt with long
ago, not wait until its at crisis point. But the city wanted
to spend and spend instead of investing years ago.
Now we are all paying for it..
Very well written letter Mr. Miller. Thank You.

I think its a very scary time in our country.

Be grateful you can feed your family.
Be grateful for your friends.
Be grateful for the small things.
file for bankruptcy that the government would bail
them out?? xxxx- we tax payers foot the bill.
The same deal as the fannie-freddie mess.
IF it comes down to it.
Do you think that's what will happen?
My dad worked there for over thirty years, its
what put food on our table (that and the dairy cows)
But I don't believe for one moment that
they did not have all these shut downs, and layoff's
on the schedule for months now.
They never had any intention of keeping it open
until 2010. I think if this was there plan all
all along why not just say it to begin with??
It would not make it any less devastating, but at
least people could start moving forward instead
of thinking they had two years.
I can honestly see G.M. filing for bankruptcy.
Time will tell.
My Mom gets my dad's pension and insurance from
G.M. it has me worried.

to do with money, and who they can afford.
I know for a fact that just because someone holds
a teaching certificate/license does NOT make them
a good teacher.
As with anything being good at something takes
time. Teaching is no exception. Some people are
naturals and others never should have applied,
because they are not open minded enough to make
Evansville has a has a huge window of all sorts
of different teachers. The really good ones, which
tend to be the ones who have been here for years.
Because it takes practice. However not all are good
just because they have years in. It's a mixed bag.
Like anything else there is no way to know

then its to late.

this weekend for our family reunion. We got to talking
Growing up my parents were very strong republicans
My sister,up until four years ago always voted
republican. She did not last time and said she
probably never will again. That bush has done so
much damage it will take years to fix and that
he should have been impeached.
She compared him to NIXON. Which was a huge statement
for her. She is a lawyer she can make a case
for anything.When she wants.
This deal with Carl Rowe she said goes to show
how truly crooked bush is.
It's like anyone of us saying we are exempt from
common day laws, its all in how you interrupt them.
bush and his cronies are crooked.

hit the TWENTY year anniversary with the
Why she continued on with them after she
had kids I don't know. I ask her often.
She is very disciplined. Her unit was
called up to go over to Iraq when her
second child was only three weeks old.
How does one leave their babies??
But she got herself in that mode that she
was going. My mom who was living in Florida
at the time, started shutting down her house
and packing as she was going to move in with
my brother in law and the kids in Iowa until
my sister got back.
I am not certain what the details were but in
the end only part of her unit went and she was
not one of them.
She felt guilty. She helped those that were
going put together their wills and get other
legal matters in order.
I am very proud of her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She served in Desert Storm as well.
An apology does not cut it.

Its funny how some people think their opinion is always right.
I know someone like that, she actually tells other people ,
' so and so is so stupid because of ....' Well its because
they dare to speak their mind and they don't agree with her.
She has gotten quite the reputation as a very negative busy
body with those of us who know her.
However she has the right to speak.
It brings me to the point about the blogs that are around
including the Janesville Gazette.
People do not have the right to post on any of these
blogs , it is a privilege not a right.
Like the Evansville Review, they don't post all editorials
they get, that is their right not to do so.
Its funny in this day and age the things people take for granted
and assume will happen.
It's really to bad that some blogs this one included have had to
go to MODERATED posts because
of a few.
Many times I have told people who have gotten angry that I did
not post , their post. Start your own blog, do and say whatever
you want on it.
However it's these same people who never will because they just
like criticizing everyone else, just people who are not very
happy with themselves.
Freedom of speech is great but there are limits with everything.

the right to say what ever they want, at time
when people are grieving, and the Gazette has
disabled the comments for their article.
The majority of people left kind remarks, but it
only takes one.
This is a time when Dale should be honored.
Same with any blog, you do NOT have the right
to post on any blog. It is up to whom ever's
blog it is to decide if you get to post.
To many people seem to think it is there damn
right to do and say what ever they please.
No you don't .. not here , not on the gazette
not any where.
You were a good man Dale, to bad some of
the people who posted were not.
Thank you to the Gazette for carefully monitoring
the comments and taking appropriate action.
to our opinions. But ever since the gazette
start allowing people to post it has only shown
how truly heartless some people can be.
I see absolutely no reason to allow posts on
articles where someone has died. Regardless of
how they died.
Some people do not seem to have enough common
sense to offer only condolences and the gazette
by allowing posts on these type of articles is
only encouraging ignorant disrespectful comments.
Show some respect to the family's and friends
regardless of who has died or how. The person
died give the family a break.
neighborhood. The way they all rallied
yesterday around Hannah and Trevor. The
kids from the neighborhood all played
together yesterday, stuck close to Hannah
and Trevor and no fighting. Just there for
The one thing about kids this age they do
not know what to say. Which I think was what
was needed. As I watched them play at the park
yesterday, different neighbors would come over
and hug Trevor and Hannah and talk to them for
a few minutes. The other kids were respectful
during this time, and after the neighbors left
back to playing.
Some times the best things are the simple ones.

Madison for the afternoon. Go to the zoo, have a
picnic and enjoy the beautiful day.
When we had a knock on our door right before
11 a.m. I heard my daughter talking to the
little girl and her brother at the door. I
figured she was telling them she could not
play because we were leaving.
When I heard our daughter say " I am sorry, I
am really sorry." Then I heard our younger
son come down stairs and our daughter telling
him their dad died.
It brought me right out of the kitchen in a
I asked as calmly as I could . " What did you say."
It was one of those situation's where you swear you
must have heard wrong. That what you were hearing
was some how wrong.
Dale was quite a guy. Very friendly and outgoing.
I always saw him at his kids games and school
activity's . Cheering them on.
He would always stop and chat if we were at the
park with the kids.
I can't even begin to imagine what those kids are
going through. My heart goes out to them.
Our thoughts and prays are with Hannah and Trevor
and Dale's family and friends.
I think this is very much an issue where it depends on the company.
It is an area where you want to read your policy very carefully. Anything
you do not understand, ask.
I know before we took out our house insurance I asked all sorts of questions.
However I had the advantage of working in insurance and I knew what to ask.
Not everything is covered, not like you would think.
When I worked for American Family more than once an irate customer was
transferred to me. Sometimes not even our customer. A lot of times it
was State Farm customers. I have to say State Farm has got to have the
laziest call/claim center. We get quite a few claims from State Farm insureds
a day.. Because at American Family, the claim is taken regardless if it our
insured or not. Where State Farm likes to say, " What they hit you???
Call them don't bother us.'' That is why I find their commericals so funny
'Like a good neighbor State Farm is there.' Yeah right.
I had a very angry older gentleman who was transferred to me because his
agent said we would pay for his damages. The call center would not auth.
a rental for him. So as I let HIM talk I was searching for him in our system
and could not find him or the agent he mentioned.
'Sir I can not find your agent in our system, who is your agent again.'
" Well Steve xxxx in Brodhead.' So you are a State Farm insured.
" WELL YES" ..
I then explained that we never issue rentals for anyone but our own
insured, as we have to investigate first. Then after we investigate
if we find we are at fault, we will get you all set up with a rental.
He thought it was the biggest scam. But that is how almost
all insurance company's work.. They are not going to admit
liability before they investigate. ONLY makes sense.
I took some dandy calls. However I am a sap and feel bad for MOST
people not all. Some people put themselves in the places they are.
LIKE our insured who called and reported her car stolen to me
and then 30 minutes later called and told me it had been
reposed . Then asked for a rental.. She did have rental on her
policy but I had to explain to her that rental coverage is only for
if your car is not drivable due to an accident, not because you
did not make your payments.. She was mad. I thought, come on
lady, you got yourself into this mess and want to blame me.
Like I told her read your policy, it states in there for what reasons
you can get a rental. Very clear.
However it does seem more and more like insurance agency's are
trying to find ways out paying things. Things that should be
paid, without question.. Click on the post a very disturbing
story.. About a company ripping someone off and the law
protects the company even though they always had paid
their policy.. It should make many people uneasy.
Insurance truly is a game. Many, Many people don't know
they can appeal decisions by insurance company's.
File a complaint with the state insurance commissioner.
While working insurance we ended up on the other side
of the fence when our medical insurance denied certain
claims for our son..
Was one of the reasons I know longer work insurance
just could no longer stomach the crap they pull...
You have to proactive and an advocate for yourself
and don't just lay down when your insurance company
tells you NO>>>
** No our health insurance was not through American Family
it was through my husbands employer. I would have no
concerns getting insurance through American Family.
Out standing company.

saying that 'when ' Brett comes back he wants
to be the one to do his contract??????
It makes you wonder if there is not some
truth to the rumors that he will come back.
Does he still have a agent if he is not playing
football anymore?? I just wondered why his
agent would have to say he wants to be the one
to do it. If he still has a agent would he not
be the one to do it??
When busting beer partys local or Rock County should know better than
to bring just 3 officer's to break up a party.
That they should have brought more. What are three officer's
going to do?? With dozens of kids??
They know darn well most of these kids are not going to
just stand around waiting for their tickets, so why only
three????? These kids run....
IF they are going to bust these party's call in
reinforcements. Don't be afraid to chase them.
Other wise it is just a joke.
Thank you Do As I Say Not As I Do....
We again had numerous kids tell us about this party and how the bust
NOW KEEP IN MIND, EVANSVILLE P.D. AND ROCK COUNTY WILL
DO NOTHING AFTER THE FACT.
So the kids feel pretty at ease telling the story.
I was telling my neighbor about some of the kids who were at
this party. Kids of city employees and kids of school district
The one kid who took off running ran into a FENCE , knocked himself out cold.
NOW do you think this kid got ticketed?? School district employee's
My neighbor asked me, " Do think the officers at the party were told
you can't ticket that kid, that is so and so's kid.'
It happens. Some kids get away with things because who their parents
are, while other kids get ticketed. This is just history, Evansville has
always been this way.
Things get covered up and the kids never see the inside of
a court room.
Who is that really helping??
What are these kids learning? What kind of example are
they being shown?
It shows them it's o.k. as long as you don't get caught, ticketed.
That I have your back, and make your 'mistakes' o.k. and go away.
The kid who ran into the fence, plays football and baseball. We
will be watching to see if he sits out any games. All depends on
who you are.
At night we ride through mansions of glory in suicide machines
Sprung from cages out on highway 9,
Chrome wheeled, fuel injected and steppin out over the line
Baby this town rips the bones from your back
Its a death trap, its a suicide rap
We gotta get out while were young
`cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run
Wendy let me in I wanna be your friend
I want to guard your dreams and visions
Just wrap your legs round these velvet rims
And strap your hands across my engines
Together we could break this trap
Well run till we drop, baby well never go back
Will you walk with me out on the wire
`cause baby Im just a scared and lonely rider
But I gotta find out how it feels
I want to know if love is wild, girl I want to know if love is real
Beyond the palace hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard
The girls comb their hair in rearview mirrors
And the boys try to look so hard
The amusement park rises bold and stark
Kids are huddled on the beach in a mist
I wanna die with you wendy on the streets tonight
In an everlasting kiss
The highways jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive
Everybodys out on the run tonight but theres no place left to hide
Together wendy well live with the sadness
Ill love you with all the madness in my soul
Someday girl I dont know when were gonna get to that place
Where we really want to go and well walk in the sun
But till then tramps like us baby we were born to run
Remember this song??? Bruce Springsteen is one of our favorites.
I have been thinking a lot about it the last few days.
AS there was several graduation party's this weekend
and one in particular was BUSTED....
NOW MY QUESTION IS WHY WHEN THESE KIDS RUN AWAY FROM THE POLICE
9X OUT OF 10 THEY LET THEM. THEY DON'T CHASE THEM DOWN.
Many of the party's we hear about, more kids get away
than get ticketed as it would seem the officer's involved
have no desire to chase down these kids. So the kids get
away with doing what they do, drink. ON to the next party.
SO IT WOULD SEEM OUR EVANSVILLE TEEN'S ARE BORN TO RUN,
but Rock County and Evansville P.D. not so much.
