We have found we just saved extra to cover the gas prices.
Our friend's family has canceled their big summer vacation.
They were going to go out west, and drive..However they also

They are now just going to stay close to home.
So are the gas prices really effecting what you are

No Child Left Behind Law, it is their own fault.
If they had been doing what they should have been doing
all along, this would not have been put in place.
When they are getting all this federal funding they should
have to prove they are doing what they are being paid for.
That is the biggest reason, the school does not like having
to comply with the No Child Left Behind , they do not
like being questioned about how they are doing there
They whine and cry about how much time this testing takes
and then they go to create a new series of testing
So it's not the testing itself, it's that they are being watched.

tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now.
A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year - old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.
The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and
failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.'We must do something about father,' said the son.
'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.' So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.
There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.
Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence.
One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.
He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded,
'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up. ' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless.
Then tears started to stream down their cheeks.
Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason,
neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled. On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens,
how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things:
a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents,
you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.
I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a 'life..'I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands.
You need to be able to throw something back
I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you
But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others,
your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.
I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.
People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.
There is always someone watching how we handle things.

Yes for large projects , yes they should. Such as Lake Leota.
Project such as what was being proposed in Lake Geneva yes they
should. This is our town, not the contractors.
My neighbor calls this town ' contractorville.' because what the contractors
want they NORMALLY get. Not always but almost.
I applaud the officials in Lake Geneva for standing up to this particular
contractor and project.
The people of Lake Geneva spoke and their officials listened.
So now it looks as though the city could be sued because they let it
go to an advisory referendum. Looks Like.
I don't think it will materialize as the city had the right to
ask the people who live there and pay taxes what they
This contractor seems to feel he has more rights than those who
For the average project NO I do not think its necessary to

Look at how busy the building construction class has been at the high school.
I should not say at the H.S. but the class from the h.s..

only was the foundation raised on this house , but other things had been done
to this house to make sure it did not flood.
As I drove through that area I noticed the water in the area was not nearly as
bad as last year. People were still pumping water out of their basements but
there was no rivers going through their backyards that I could see.
So something must be going some what better. Not perfect. But better.
A few more things to get done , but it looks good.
If you get a chance to drive out and see the great job these kids did who are

I do think helmets save more lives than kill.
Yes we have some bike riders that will try to tell
you people die because of them. Yeah what ever.
I do think it will become a law eventually.
We have a law for seat belts.
Why not helmets?
What makes them think they should have the right
not to wear a helmet?
We hear about a lot more riders dying without a helmet
This is not about are biker's good or bad? This is
want to be remembered?
Growing up my grandpa liked to tell us he was going to die. I
remember from the age of 9 or 10 him doing this.
He lived to be 96. However during this time he wrote his own
obituary. Now this is nothing new, many people do this.
It allows them to have the final say, of how they would like people
to remember them.
As we got the tragic news of Ted Kennedy's diagnosis and I started
reading some of the comments from the links from CNN I thought
Oh my gosh people, grow up.
He and his family have just received devastating news and you want
to rub his mistakes in his face, Mary Jo Kopechne. The accident
with Mary Jo Kopechne is tragic but he has lived with that every day
of his life. He will continue to live with it.
People, say he should have gone to prison, well first take a good
hard look at the drunk driving laws. It has only been in the last few
years these people have actually started doing prison time for killing
someone in a drunk driving accident. This was how many years
People will never forget this. However he in the years since has gone onto
do many, many good things. He has been an outstanding Senator.
He has been an out standing human since much as any of the rest
Some of the posts I read I thought oh my gosh people he is not dead.
It's like some were giving their condolences.
So let us remember that in this world that we live in we will
live here, and make mistakes here. However it's what we learn
from those mistakes and how we live our lives after the mistakes
that we will be remembered for.
Unless you are president bush. He will be remembered for all
the lives he cost people. With his lies.
I can not think of any good he has done.
Every time you experience joy, there is one less person feeling pain. Each time you spread joy to another, the positive power of that joy begins to multiply.
There is no limit to how far and wide the joy can spread when you send it out beyond you. There is no telling what goodness will eventually result when you choose to nurture and send forth joy from your life.
To be truly joyful is not a self-centered pursuit. It is one of the most generous things you can do.
For your joy is infectious. The more sincerely you love life, the better life becomes for all those who come near you.
The joy you know will go out beyond you, out into a world where it will truly make a difference. Each moment lived in joy is a brilliance that can light the deepest darkness.
Give your heart the experience of joy. And that joy will expand far beyond you.

First that he would put himself in this position
to even be questioned about such a thing.
Second, that anyone would have to watch it. Yuck.
Even the alleged victim in question says it was not her in
this sex video.
He says it was not him in the video.
I have serious questions what kind of case they even
have against him, six years later?
It makes one wonder how many hundred of thousands
of tax payer money they have spent on this case.
I think if they had any case at all they would have gone
to court years ago.
However not like it is today.
At my graduation party it was pretty plain and simple. A cook out, salads, soda's , cake..
People came and ate the food and seemed to have a good time visiting.
Classmates came to eat and hung out for a while.
NO one would have dreamed about there being alcohol at the graduation party.
With graduation coming up there has been a lot of talk in our house about the party plans.
The one thing our son has kept pushing for is for there to at least be beer
for the adults. As some of the parents of his friends drink. That is his story.
We don't keep alcohol in our house, so why would I provide it at a party where there
will be a bunch of teens? Teens who think it should be no big deal for them
to drink. Teens who think nothing of sneaking alcohol at their own homes.
We have told him that we don't care to play alcohol police all afternoon.
I would not have a problem with the adults drinking. However how would you go
about keeping the alcohol from the kids , without standing guard.
I know some of these kids, they would find a way to get a beer.
We have just simply told him quit bugging us about the alcohol issue
or the only thing that we will serve is pbj & kool aid.

about the up coming graduation he had been talking about
different teachers and what they meant to him.
I mean, come on they are in this school for technically 13
years if you count kindergarten. They only have these teacher's
once for a full school year but in that short
amount of time they do make a lasting impression.
I asked our son what teacher does he think stands
out the most to him. That had the biggest impact
on his life so far as far as school.
He said the teacher that he feels made the biggest
difference in his life in terms of school is
Mrs. Hoebel a first grade elementary teacher
at the Levi Leonard Elementary school.
I was not surprised at all. She is quite a lady,
and a teacher.
I was not surprised by his answer. When he
started the first grade he hated reading. I
say hated because it was a battle to get him
to read. He had a hard time getting the hang
of it. However she worked with him, and worked
with him. Very patient , Very encouraging.
By the end of the year he was reading right
where he should have been for his grade
level. When they did there testing in the
sixth grade he was well beyond where
he should have been for his age and class.
Once he got it, he really got it and just took off.
However it is because of the time and patience
she showed him. She made the difference.
He said the other teachers he will always
remember as someone who made a
Mr. Beedle- He made things fun and interesting. Made them really think about the world they live in.
Mr.Wiemiller- He never gives up on any one.
Mr. Cobb- Because he told him to quit the crap and that he was capable of doing a lot better. He was right.
He said there are others to but 10-15 -20 years from now he is certain they are people
he would look back and wonder what they are doing, if they are still teaching, and remember
them for the difference they made to him.
Thank You to all that make a difference in a child's life.
Be it daycare provider, teacher, Minister, or a volunteer.
You probably don't know the difference you make in
people's lives but you do.
Thank You To All....
I think we all feel safe living here.
We, think we know our neighbors, sometimes we know
them to well.
As I read this story I thought , this is just a sick, sick man
wanting his son to do these things.
However his dad is no longer here to tell his side of
the story so we will never know what really happened.
To many times we hear about justice gone wrong.

not graduate with the Class of 2008. Why ? Different reasons for each one.
I do know for a fact that the ones we are aware of none of them were in
the high risk program, ( which by the way the state pays the school for.)
why was that?
It really is quite a simple program. So why did these kids who have no
l.d. issues why were they not referred to this program? There are no
guarantees that it would have made the difference in if they graduated
or not but at least the Evansville School district could say they did all
they could do.
Making sure kids graduate is a three way deal, parents, kid, school.
The school did not do all it could for these kids.
The drop out rate reflects on the district and the district alone.
I also wonder if the school district goes back and changes the numbers
it reports to the state in terms of kids who do not graduate?
Or does it let the state believe more kids graduated than did
when classes are not finished at B.T.C. to finish up credits.

has left a new comment on your post "Do Not Buy A Puppy From This Woman..":
Although I read Ripoff.com about Pat, I really thought it was just a stupid blog. We went up and purchased a puppy. It's first stool was liquidy. It had been dewormed two days before we bought it. We called Pat and she said to give him Pepto Bismol. We didn't, but took him to our Vet. Tested negative for worms, however our two year old started with diarrhea a couple of days after that. So, eighteen days later we take the pup to the Vet again. Guess what? He tested positive for coccitia. So, after two trips to the Vet and $100+ later, we are treating both for coccitia.
It is not my intention to recoup our expenses, but to make enough noise to rescue all the dogs in her puppy mill.

Our friend now runs a successful design business from
Before her daughter was to enter Evansville High School
she and her husband looked over what was being offered
for classes and was very disappointed/disgusted.
If you want a advanced class you have very few choices.
Anything beyond the required classes in severely lacking.
With the virtual school her daughter attended she had
available to her 3 different foreign classes. Advanced
science classes right from the start.
In Evansville if you want to take anything but Spanish you
are just out of luck. Her daughter not only took Spanish
but also is learning a third language.
It was not only the curriculum that bothered her, it was
that school is run more politically than educationally.
She said she should not have to worry about what political
games the staff and administration play. 'IF only they payed
as much attention to education as they do to the games they
play.' She said as a person who taught for 15 years it makes
her sick to see the things that go on there.
Things went so well with the virtual school and her older
daughter this year that they are pulling their other two
kids to do the same next year with them.
Her daughter is very involved in outside activities, 4-H,
church group, sport teams through the y, and summer
sports so she keeps in daily contact with her friends that
go the E.H.S. She said she has loved this last year, learned
a lot and does not have to put up with the crap. at the school.
It makes one wonder how long it will be before the district
starts to really take notice, they are losing kids because
of their performance. That's money lost to them.
What's really nice about virtual schools is they are not
considered home schooling, you have certified teachers
teaching your kids, from the comfort of your own home.
Her words to us the other night were ' We are so done with
the Evansville school district.' It is such a relief to
have found a great alternative. Where our kids can get a
great education with out us having to move.
** She did say if anyone else is thinking about doing this
you have to enroll your kids during the open enrollment
period in the winter. You do not have to report anything
to the DPI yourself, as this is considered public school.
Karen wanted me to clarify that really its only two languages
Spanish she already is proficient in, just adding on to what she
already knows. English has had that since day 1 and then the other
one she has just started and will continue with that on her own
in the summer and again next year. So only two languages besides

high school, or high school students. What do you
think of senior skip day?
We got a letter this last week pretty much saying
it is a naughty thing for these seniors to be doing.
My husband and I started talking about when we were

senior skip day even way back then.
But we also had a class of 23. We all knew each
other like family.
Both my husband and I participated in senior skip day.
His class went bowling and had a pizza party, mine
went canoeing down the mighty Sugar River. We then
had a cook out at a classmates house.
I think as long as they are doing something constructive
and not just using it as a day to sleep in we have no
issue with it. As long as we know what day and what they
will be doing.
We have talked with several other parents who feel the
same. These kids have worked hard for the last 12
years. One day will not hurt a thing.
People who try to do something and fail
are infinitely better than those who try to do nothing and succeed.
Experiencing failure is inevitable on your journey to be successful.
Every defeat is merely an installment to victory.
You'll find that the number of times you succeed is in direct proportion
to the number of times you fail and keep trying.
You won't be judged by the number of times you fail,
but by the number of times you succeed.
Failure is nothing but education,
nothing but the first step to something better.
You can't be a winner and be afraid to lose

When talking with people about this lady over in Fort Atkinson who sells
sick dogs someone asked if she should not have to be licensed and if
rescues have to be licensed.
I called the Rock County Humane Society and they said YES rescues
should be licensed. Not just have a kennel license. They should also
have the non-profit title. So when checking out rescues grill them
about who they are and what they are. Ask for references. Ask to
see actual vet bills if they 'say' its to cover vet costs. Some people just
resell animals they manage to get their hands on. Not ethical.
*notice how when I was not certain about something I called and asked.
What is "A Reputable Animal Rescue"?
- A reputable rescue has a contract, screens every potential adopter with a MANDATORY home visit before a pet is placed there, incl. foster/temporary basis and requires references.
- A reputable rescue follows through on contacts and references and investigates each thing completely.
- A reputable rescue has references from shelters in their area and works with those shelters.
- A reputable rescue checks on the care of the previous or current pets with the vet, to ensure future pets will have proper medical attention.
- A reputable rescue spays/neuters all pets before placement
- A reputable rescue makes sure animals are up to date on all vaccines, and microchips where appropriate to ensure all pets are healthy, up to date on all shots, heartworm tested/on prevention, and received necessary vet care before placement
- A reputable rescue always takes its adopted animals back if the placement isn't successful.
- A reputable rescue keeps animals in foster care, or in situations where the animal was at a shelter, works with shelter staff for a short period of time before placing them, to screen for health or behavior problems.
- A reputable rescue helps educate new adopters, and may require adopters to participate in training courses to assist in a good adoption.
- A reputable rescue always returns calls or emails in a timely fashion.
- A reputable rescue works carefully to match up the right forever home with the right pet, based on the pet's needs/personality/etc.
- A reputable rescue will help adopters make decisions about which animal is a good fit for their home, and will offer advice and assistance on meeting the correct animal for the adopter.
- A reputable rescue may ask that all family members and resident pets meet the new animal before an adoption is finalized. Where breed appropriate, several meetings may be required.
- A reputable rescue will never ask an adopter to take an animal "sight unseen" or take an animal arriving in on a transport right to a new home.
- A reputable rescue makes an effort to work in harmony with the shelters, humane societies and animal control facilities in their own area or state.
- A reputable rescue will have a cordial and informed relationship with other rescues.
- A reputable rescue is not for profit, and works on adoptions, not sales.
- A reputable rescue takes responsibility for the animals adopted through them for the span of each animal’s life, not "just” for the span of foster care or transport.
- A reputable rescue carefully screens incoming animals for temperament and health, and has met and interacted with animals being offered for adoption.
- A reputable rescue does not offer animals to be used for breeding, and should not promote animals with unstable or unknown temperaments.
- A reputable rescue never places an animal as a surprise to the intended adopter.
- A reputable rescue never places an animal as a gift to the intended adopter. The rescue will always involve the recipient in the decision to adopt as well as the application, home visit, and selection of the pet.
- A reputable rescue places the welfare and happiness of the animal first, and screens the homes to ensure that the placement is a sound one for that animal.
- A reputable rescue will never “hurry up” a process, or waive requirements simply for the convenience of the adopter.
- A reputable rescue requires an application form and adoption contract.
- A reputable rescue requires an adoption contract which includes a legal clause to have the pet returned to this rescue if the new adopter relinquishes it.
- A reputable rescue prioritizes working with shelters and owner-surrenders from within its own state first
- A reputable rescue prioritizes rescue animals from its own geographical area whenever possible (i.e. does NOT haul vanloads of puppies/dogs/pets from out-of-state shelters!)
- A reputable rescue requires a legal release form for owner-surrenders.
- A reputable rescue understands the limits of its resources; does not accept more animals than it has legal authority or space/time to care for.
- A reputable rescue is recommended as a "good breed rescue group" by at least two established non-profit shelters in its own state.
- A reputable rescue operates as an official 501c3 public charity OR as a not-for-profit entity.
fault if the horses won't eat.
We owned horses for years. I grew up with horses.
We actually had the opposite problem we constantly
had to watch their weight. Watch what types of food
they were being fed, they loved to eat.
Most animals unless ill, or scared to death will eat.
I hope help gets to these horses before its to late.

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappointments
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a Mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above...

this. But it got them the attention they wanted. It
keeps the case in the eye of the public.
Shooting an unarmed man 50x should stay in the view
of the public. Until it is properly resolved.
“ White people want her.”
Whites in both states who have not completed college
are supporting me.
Why would you say something like that?
She has claims of wanting to unite the democratic
party and then she says something like that.
I can not stress enough if you see someone drinking and
then get into there car, call the police. Let them decide
if this person is drunk or fit to drive.
Pick up your phone, and call it in.
Don’t go home and blog about it.
IF you are not calling it in then
You are part of the problem, it
could be a life you are saving.
So to the person who sent me that post
and you know who you are and what
post I am talking about.
I obviously did not post it, because
that would be like me saying you smoke
pot and robbed the local bank.
I have no proof of that because no one
called it in.
I defend no one who drinks and drives.
But I am not going to post something like
that based on your word alone.
If there had been a conviction for it
that I would see as different.
If someone was waving a gun around would
you call it in? Yes. Because you don't
know if that person is going to kill them
selves or someone else.
No different than someone getting into
their vehicle and driving drunk. It's
So the next time don’t blog about it,
call it in.

Most recently she loaned it 6.5 million is it?
You have to wonder when Bill is going to
tell her NO I won’t tell you where the check
I will say it again, time for her to go.
She is a good politician.
I just think Barack can and will do
what he says he will.
we had sick kids. But the word I got from someone who was
there they were very pleased with the outcome.
Thank you public safety committee.
** I think its important to mention that the issue of parents not
being informed when there child in truant/M.I.A. has
always been at the high school level. As far as I am
aware the middle school and elementary school have
always done a good job of notifying parents.
I was told there actually seemed to be an agreement
between school staff that was present and the city.
I do realize there is something wrong about saying
elementary school and truant in the same sentence.
I would hope at the elementary level that is not

I read the latest posts between you and Lacey. First, she is right. I used to give breaks for first time offenders. Truth is, I was--and am--very conflicted about our laws that say a 17 year olds are mature enough to go die for our country by being in the military, but aren't mature enough until 21 to have a drink. Or, at 16, they can be deemed mature enough to be able to have an 'evil mind' (mens rea), and thus be tried as adults in criminal cases. I still have those conflicts, but two things changed my approach--at least about underage drinking. First, the latest 'science' is in, and I find it very persuasive. We had no idea until recently how teenage brains are adversely affected by aclohol, and in a far different way than how alcohol affects adults. I won't belabor the point here, but those who are interested should check it out. The second factor was Dane's death. It was similar to a V-8, knock on the forhead moment that made me realize that teenagers just aren't ready for alcohol yet. Since then, I think I may have let one go without a suspension, at the request of their parent (who would've had a hardship if the 'kid' didn't have their license), but the rest have earned maximum penalties, each time.
I'm sure you all heard/read about where Wisconsin sits as far as drinking/driving issues--dead last in the country. I have to disagree with Lacey on one issue, though. The police can't solve this problem, no matter HOW MANY arrests they make. I can tell you that some of the new officers are 'going to town' with OWI arrests; I've seen the increase already in court, and I understand that even more are coming my way. However, look at the stats from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration: For every one arrest of a drunk driver, there are as many as 2,000 (two thousand) that go undetected. The cops can do what they can, but this problem will ONLY change when there is a change in community standards about alcohol. Right now, it seems (based on our position 50 out of the 50 states) that Wisconsin considers drinking, and drinking and driving more of a sport, than a problem. Until that changes, we will continue to see carnage.
Thanks for your coverage of this important issue.
Saturday found Judge with a court room full of under age drinker's
We know several of those kids who were in court. It's funny how these kids
and other's always think they have it all figured out before they ever get to
court. They ' know' what is going to happen. Their friends who have been
there before tell what what to expect.
Not this Saturday, they were all very surprised to find them selves getting
the max. They all should get the max. A strong message needs to be sent.
Some kids don't get that at home. Some parents party with some of these
kids that were in court. So what kind of example has been shown these
Some parents sit at the bar weekend after weekend, some night after
night. So much so one might expect to find their name engraved on
the bar stool. So what is being shown these kids? For entertainment
Like so many things it starts with what the see and hear from
people they trust. Parents.
Prom is coming up fast.. How many parents require their kids
to come home on prom night? or at the very least check in
with the host parents where your kids tell you they are going to be.
Graduation.. how many people are going to serve alcohol? Do you have
to have alcohol to have fun? To enjoy your self?
People in this town need to start paying attention to the message they
are sending the kids in this town. They watch so closely.
I don’t think it was to often my parents used the word “elders”.
We knew they meant grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles.
We did/do respect them. I have never been treated anyway but
respectfully by them. I learned early on you give respect and
you will get it.
I have instilled that same idea in our children’s life since they
were old enough to talk. We don’t talk back, We don’t sass.
I am not saying they don’t do it they are not angels.
But they know what it means to be respectful. They have
role models who they look up to.
They have learned treat people how you want to be treated.
I think people generally get respect until they give people
a reason not to respect them.
This brings me to Judge Alisankus. He deserves and gets
great respect from many, many people. Even people youth
and adult alike who have been in his court room will tell you
he is more than fair. He makes it a goal of his to if at all
possible to bring change, to make a difference.
He has our respect. HE knows the law. He has never
abused his position in anyway. He has done nothing
but good things for this community and he deserves
our respect and support .
turning on each other to stay out of jail.
I think this type of thing is what the American
people should fear. It only takes a few
bad ones to make life a lot harder for the ones
that live by the law.
I would think this brings into question any
case these clowns worked on.
How you even begin to apologize for such a thing I don’t know.
The dispatcher should have been fired.
** Unreal they are sending letters. It is very possible her
family would not have the stomach to listen to them
attempt to apologize.

today. We talked in depth about state laws that pertain to truancy and
what a school district must do pertaining truancy.
After talking with Mr.Wiltrout it became very clear that the Evansville
school district is in clear violation of STATE LAWS, regardless of
what municipal laws we may have.
I have included the link where Mr. Wiltrout directed me to and
what statues to read.
The statues are 118.18,118.16, 118.163,118.162
(c) Except as provided under shall notify the parent or guardian of a child who has been truant of the child's truancy and direct the parent or guardian to return the child to school no later than the next day on which school is in session or to provide an excuse under The notice under this paragraph shall be given before the end of the 2nd school day after receiving a report of an unexcused absence. The notice may be made by personal contact, mail or telephone call of which a written record is kept, except that notice by personal contact or telephone call shall be attempted before notice by mail may be given.
118.16 (2)(cg) "http://www.legis.state.wi.us/statutes/Stat0118.pdf""http://www.legis.state.wi.us/statutes/Stat0118.pdf"
(cg) shall notify the parent or guardian of a child who is a habitual truant, by registered or certified mail, when the child initially becomes a habitual truant. The notice shall include all of the following:
. A statement of the parent's or guardian's responsibility, under to cause the child to attend school regularly.
118.16 (2)(cg)2. "http://www.legis.state.wi.us/statutes/Stat0118.pdf""http://www.legis.state.wi.us/statutes/Stat0118.pdf"
2. A statement that the parent, guardian or child may request program or curriculum modifications for the child under and that the child may be eligible for enrollment in a program for children at risk under 118.16
118.16 (2)(cg)3. "http://www.legis.state.wi.us/statutes/Stat0118.pdf""http://www.legis.state.wi.us/statutes/Stat0118.pdf"
3. A request that the parent or guardian meet with appropriate school personnel to discuss the child's truancy. The notice shall include the name of the school personnel with whom the parent or guardian should meet, a date, time and place for the meeting and the name, address and telephone number of a person to contact to arrange a different date, time or
place. The date for the meeting shall be within 5 school days after the date that the notice is sent, except that with the consent of the child's parent or guardian the date for the meeting may be extended for an additional 5 school days.
They do not send daily truancy notices or make calls to parents. I even talked with
A teacher who stated. ‘ I know they don’t do that.’
They don’t send the habitual truancy notice certified mail. That is state law.
They don’t follow the law.
What does that make all those truancy tickets? Invalid.
Since the school can not be trusted to follow the law. It will be the city’s job
to make sure they do, because the school sends truants to the CITY’S
This is your tax money being spent.
Most parents will deal with the situation before it ever gets to court
if they are notified before a child is habitually truant.

Three murders in the last year, and no arrests?
I know they are not CSI, but come on.
One would think that they would have something in one
of the cases by now.
Makes people start to lose confidence in police dept's
when they seem to not be making any headway in
serious cases. When public safety is an issue. People
expect to see things moving along. At least in one
of the cases.
Joe Marino's case remains unsolved.
Kelly Nolan's case remains unsolved.
Brittany Zimmermann .. Unsolved.
Lou Marino , Joe's dad is asking the attorney-general for help.
I, think they may need help.
(my brother in law so nicely reminded me that most of the time police know
alot more than we think they do. Just not sharing with the public.)
would just like someone to fuel up our vehicles every week.
Just let someone else pay for it.
When McCain and Hillary jumped at the idea of the gas
tax relief ship saying what a great idea .. lets do it.
Then Obama stood up and said no way it is nothing more
than a ploy to get votes and in the end what is it going to
do for you, especially if gas prices just continue to rise?
Was it just a ploy? Has anyone figured out how much
we would 'save' if there was a break from the gas tax?
I have not as of yet. I have just accepted the fact this
is what how things are right now. We have definitely
felt the pinch.
Between the cost of gas and rising costs of grocery's we
are spending 120.00 more every two weeks than
we were 3 months ago.
We are watching things a lot closer than we did before.
Especially when it comes to grocery's, you have to
when you have a family to feed.
People don't like be snuckered, and I do think that is
the only way Hillary and John McCain are looking at
the gas tax relief. Just a way to get votes.
I did not think the story of Brittany Zimmermann could get any
sadder. There will always be so many questions, a lot of what
if's. This has to just tear the heart out of her family again.
To know she did everything she could to survive and was let
down by those who should help.
